While Eva from Wednesday had very long days at work (At 7am all meetings and not for 21h at home) were Dries and I experienced the Belgian temperatures at Yosemite. Maybe it was even colder because during the day did not find the above 0 C off. The advantage was that the park looked lovely with certain parts in the snow! And we have also seen more animals (deer and wolves) brz closer to Yosemite Village came to search brz for food. We do have spotted no bears, but actually did not really work for us;-).
We slept on the edge of the park in the Cedar Lodge, an ok hotel but we were completely brz isolated from the outside world: no cell phone receipts and the Internet (only in the lobby) brz cost $ 10 which we had not been there for over. So we have to make an old-school phone giant horn to Eva to call us. Equally use
The next day we drove to Mari Pose Grove, the lowest part of Yosemite National Park where we could admire Sequoias. brz We have a serious hike with lots of elevation changes and done it in the snow, but it was worth! A must for anyone who comes to visit us!
After a quiet Friday which culminated with a visit to a shopping mall (no surprise: brz p) and a dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, we went to Napa Valley today. brz This region is an hour and half drive from our apartment so it can be done in one day, unless you are really crazy about wines, and there to stay. We visited a vineyard and it also tasted quite nice but expensive ($ 50 + per bottle)! In the afternoon we had dinner in a cozy little town, St. Helena, Mexican.
Afterwards we have to be forced to some "tourist traps" that stood in our tourist guide. Us a little (Old Faithful Geyser was not worth!) We have visited some other vineyards quickly and before brz we knew it we were driving around the valley. We actually found that "Napa Valley" a bit overrated, and what they do exploit the tourists. We will visit again next time the vineyards near our apartment. Several brz people have been told about this and they are a lot cheaper! So we can compare and our future visitors good advice:-). brz
