Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has announced that he will compete in October's elections for re-election to the position, which is from November last year, practically without any powers. Deprived of it by the city council after the flood of scandals, ah among other things, due to the use of drugs, alcohol and exaggeration of sexual harassment.
Ford based its decision on the re candidacy for mayor announced via Twitter. Despite the scandal, the populist mayor of support among voters ah is slipping at such a low level that it should abandon any hope of electoral success. There are currently supported by 31 percent of voters. ah Of the remaining potential candidates ahead by only Liberal Olivia Chow with 34 percent support, although on a nomination not yet been formally decided.
For Ford, the problems began last fall, when police revealed that a clip in which 44-year-old mayor smokes crack. Ford after an initial denial of sin confessed, but later they began to come to the public yet another ah awkward information. Among them shot the mayor, who built in the office and threatened with murder, a day came allegations of sexual harassment of subordinates, the mayor has even admitted that he drove a car under the influence of alcohol.
Municipal Council of Canada's largest cities was the mayor of downtime enough, but by the position could not be removed as it would first be necessary for conviction of an offense.
