We expect that the conclusion of the CETA will strengthen competitiveness of Latvian exporters in Canada. Concluding CETA, the most important benefits expected from a comprehensive trade liberalization, one2car which is designed to ensure an immediate reduction of import tariffs by more than 99.6% of EU industrial goods and 89% of agricultural and processed one2car agricultural products, including Latvian major tariff lines-undenatured ethyl alcohol and other alcoholic beverages, canned fish, individual chocolate confectionery etc. Also we are pleased one2car that in addition to the negotiations one2car failed to find an adequate one2car solution to the interests of Latvian investment protection issues, which is equivalent to 2009th one2car the Latvian and Canadian investment promotion and protection Agreement.
Just sitting ministers also heard the EC report on the current situation in the EU-Japan one2car free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations, providing information on the Japanese during the progress made in the elimination of non-tariff barriers and a separate sector procurement market opening, which is the beginning of the negotiations, was put forward as a precondition for talks to continue.
Latvia recognizes the EU-Japan relations and the strategic importance of Japan's efforts to date in relation to the reduction of non-tariff barriers. It should promote the competitiveness of Latvian companies in the Japanese market and create new opportunities for Latvian exporters in Asia. We hope that the EU-Japan FTA talks are progressing well and the parties, as expected, to the 2016th one2car year will be able to agree on the content of the contract. We believe that the market access of goods essential to a comprehensive import and export tariff suspensions, while focusing on addressing one2car non-tariff one2car barriers - both identified so far in the context of the problem (including the pharmaceutical sector), both with regard to non-tariff barriers one2car horizontal resolution mechanism to be established. Negotiations towards the need to service the terms of trade and investment protection.
National ministers meeting endorsed the Council conclusions one2car on "green one2car goods" initiative, which aims to promote the free trade of goods on a global scale, which contribute to climate change mitigation. Council was given a mandate to the Commission to enter the World Trade Organization negotiations on environmental goods terms of trade liberalization. currently planning to participate in the negotiations, only 14 WTO countries, it is expected that negotiations will expand the range of countries involved.
Latvia one2car supports the EU membership negotiations and believes that "green products" initiative will be an important one2car element of "green growth" and environmental one2car goals to promote. Latvian interests in these negotiations is to facilitate, for example, the Latvian-produced goods trade as central heating boilers, liquid one2car pumps, cooling equipment , water filters, particle briquettes and other exports.
