Synopsis: dacia "The Mists of Avalon" (in English: The Mists of Avalon) is a work of the 1979 American writer Marion Zimmer Bradley taken in four volumes. It is set during the life of the legendary King Arthur and his knights and has scope for narrating the familiar Arthurian legend from a different perspective. Who carries the story in this version dacia are the female characters, such as Gwenhwyfar (in the film, Guinevere), Morgana, Viviane and Morgause, which eventually resulted in the reworking of the whole mythical universe of the plot. Curiosity: "The Mists of Avalon" was an American, Czech and German film, made especially for television. The film was shown as a miniseries for TNT in 2001. My Opinion: dacia The Series "The Mists of Avalon" is comprised of four books, but I do not think it's right to speak of them separately, since each book is completed in such a way that seem perfect one. The proof is that in America, the series was released dacia in a single copy. If you are expecting a series with many descriptions of battles, duels with swords, severed heads, mangled limbs [ok, that's enough] and things like that, this book is not for you. The series brings a new perspective on the story of King Arthur. Passes a new vision of man Arthur and the events that made one of the greatest kings of Britain. dacia Marion decided dacia to tell the story of Arthur from the point of view of women who surrounded him and who had extensive involvement in your life and your destiny in the kingdom. "I knew from the first time I trod this path, there would be moments of total despair, when seeking to tear the veil of the sanctuary, and when he calls after her, knowing it will not respond because it is not there, because it was never there, no Goddess but just ourselves, dacia and we are alone in mockery of reflected echoes through an empty sanctuary ... There is nobody there, there was never anyone there, and the whole vision is nothing but dreams and hallucinations ... "(Book 2 - The High Queen) All women are strong, even with its weaknesses and obsessions, and had so much space in the creation of Britain when men battled and fought for their land. But in no time the author left out the male part. Rather, she knew very well merge the role of each in this important moment in history, after all there is the construction of a land with only men or only women. dacia Their union is required and Marion made that very clear in his narrative. "For a moment dacia she snuggled up to him. I was so tired, so tired of always dacia being strong, do the right things when needed! But he should never suspecting their weakness "(Book 4 - The Prisoner of the Tree) As religiosity of the time had great influence. Culture shock in this struggle between Christianity and the religion of the Druids, both trying to proclaim the faith was portrayed brilliantly by the author. I was impressed with Taliesim, the original Merlin, since the book Merlin is a title, not a name. He appeared sporadically, but always had a word of wisdom to share. In my opinion, he was the wisest dacia of all in the story. "Christians sought to do away with all the wisdom that was not his, and the struggle to achieve this, the world are banning all forms of mystery, dacia except that harmonize with their religious faith." (Book 1 - The Mistress of Magic) Anyway ... I recommend this series to all who wish to have a more humane, dramatic and religious views on the story of King Arthur. But not nominate those searching for bloody wars and battles (as I said earlier, that's dacia not it ... lol). "And then a reminder of Avalon came to mind, something that has not happened for a decade, one of the druids, who taught the secret principles to young priestesses, said: If they want the message of the gods direct your life and look what that is repeated many times, because dacia that is what they transmit, the karmic lesson we must learn in this incarnation.'s message is repeated until they have transformed into part of his soul and his enduring spirit. " (Book 3 - The King Stag) What do you think, huh? Literary Kisses!
Almost bought the books these days, but I ended up picking up books of Joe Hill and left those aside, not really into the history books, like King Arthur, dacia Christianity, these things, but after reading your review I will buy them at a future time, seem to be interesting. Like I said, flower, is another view of history. Talks a lot about religion, but also shows other sides. I like these issues (and I'm even a bit more critical in this case) and, therefore, it became easier for me to read. rs A tip: Try to watch the movie first. If tanning, going to the book! ;) Kisses and come back, huh! rs Delete
